The Problems of Oriental Studies journal publishes articles based on the results of yet unpublished studies (the author guarantees this point).
The essential feature required of materials for publication is their compliance with the scientific criteria such as the topicality of a problem, academic novelty, etc.
The editorial board members reserve the right to select material for publication.
For publication manuscripts are subject to anonymous peer-review by the editorial board members or subject experts.
Minor corrections (stylistic or formal ones) are introduced into the article without securing the author’s approval; papers that require serious modifications should be returned for revision.
Honorarium or fees are not provided.
Submissions should represent an article with Russian and English summaries and keywords (not exceeding 10 words), having two hard copies and an electronic version. The hard copies of a paper should be signed by all authors. Pages must be numbered consecutively including those containing tables, figures, diagrams, references, etc. Illustrations and photographs should have good contrast ratio.
The journal is published in the Russian and Bashkir languages with English summaries. If a manuscript is in the Bashkir language, the author must submit an electronic version typed in Helver Bashkir 10% or BT Times NR fonts. If the text contains a fragment in other Eastern languages (Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Kazakh, etc.), the author should submit its original, being transliterated in the Cyrillic alphabet and translated into Russian, as well as the corresponding fonts.
The paper should have the UDC code as well as Russian and English summaries containing 200 to 250 words.
The style of the articles should meet the general requirements of the leading scientific periodicals. It is desirable that the paper should have:
The abstract should include goals and objectives, the subject, results, and conclusions of research.
References should be listed according to the all-Union State Standard 7.1-2003 (Moscow, 2006), all authors being indicated. The list of bibliography is given being transliterated in the Roman alphabet; all titles of works are translated into English.

Reviewing is made for the purposes of high-level scientific and practical significance of the materials published in the scientific journal The Problems of Oriental Studies as well as strict adherence to copyrights. The review shall be conducted confidentially.
The editors will accept articles from authors written in accordance with the requirements for scientific articles submitted for publication in the journal. After registration in the editor’s office the executive secretary forward the article to the editorial board members (a specialist in the article’s matter) or to an independent expert (in some cases) on the recommendation of the editorial board.
The reviewer is usually, a Ph. D., professor, but the person could be a MS, being a qualified professional with profound knowledge and experience in a particular field.
The reviewer within three weeks is to confirm the possibility of publishing the material or to give recommendations for its improvement, or for a reasoned refusal.
The article originals are kept in the editorial office for 5 (five) years from the date of the publication of articles and presented to a advisory council on request.
The review shall be conducted confidentially (breach of confidentiality is only possible in the case of plagiarism detected by the reviewer and falsification of materials contained in the article).
Reviewer fills in a form answering the questions "yes" / "no" when necessary writing a detailed review. The author is sent a copy of the review.
If the article has undergone considerable transformation by the author, a second review is done by the same reviewer.
In the event of defects in the article left after comments of the editors the latter reserve the right to reject it.
A decision on whether publication of the material submitted is possible or one concerning its motivated rejection is adopted at a meeting of the editorial board, and then communicated to the author.
